Tips

In most games, especially on small fields, the first few seconds of the game can be very crucial to the outcome of the game. I will discuss a couple of the basic openings, you can have your team use an opening as a whole or mix it up.

Defensive Opening
Generally used on small fields. Best when used against players who are better, faster, or outnumber you. As the game starts, your players walk to their key points as they are firing their paintball gun. When using this opening, you should fire at where your opponent is going to go rather than where your opponent is due to the travel time of the paintball.

Offensive Strategy
Generally used on small fields. Best when used against players who are about equal in skill. As the game starts, your players run and slide into their key positions while firing as they slide. When running, it is a good idea to run diagnoally and to keep one hand up covering the lens of your mask. Running diagonally lowers the chance of a paintball breaking on you because you are no longer running straight towards paintballs. Keeping your hand up allows paintballs to bounce off of your gloves which are padded rather than your mask lens which is hard.

Surprise Strategy
As the game starts, your players run into advanced positions. This allows you to surprise your opponents from behind as they pass you.

When you are moving quickly, you can hold your paintball gun at the end above the back of the grip frame. This will allow you to run faster without accidently shooting. If the back of the marker is too short, you can also hold the it at the area around the volumizer.
