So, you've got some old paintballs stored up huh?
Paintballs are very difficult to store. They hate cold weather, hot weather, and humid weather. Paintballs don't tend to breath
air, they breath water.
Cold weather causes paintball shells to let out water. Paintballs exposed to cold weather will have brittle shells and appear
wet. No damage will result to your paintball gun from the water. However, depending on your paintball gun, the paint may break
more often in your barrel. If possible, it advised to use a low pressure setting to decrease the number of breaks in your
barrel.
Warm and humid weather has the opposite affect. Water is drawn into the paintball. With paintballs which have been subject
to this type of weather, the chances of breakage in the gun is very rare. However, this also means the chances of breaking
on your target is also significantly lowered.
If your paintballs are not in sealed bags, it is best to place them in a ziplock bag or in foil. Paintballs should be stored
in a dry and cool area 59 to 89 Degrees. If possible, try to keep the paintballs receiving as little air as possible.
